There is a difference between white passing & white presenting. If you know someone has a black parent… they aren’t white passing. They are white presenting.

Yes Jami! 💯 I watched Yanie's video on Halle Berry & Chloe. I think some people are confused. There is no way Halle can walk into a room, and pass as a white woman. She does have privilege due to white beauty standards, but she doesn't look like a white woman. She has said herself years ago that she identifies as a black woman…as that is what she sees when looking in the mirror, as well as her lived experience.
I never really Halle Berry as white passing because most of the roles she had it was made clear her character is black if any thing Halle Berry is Hollywood "Acceptable" version of a black woman because she does less Africans features which worked to her benefit but not every role she took for a movie was good now . Plus Halle acknowledges her blackness there is a time and a place for these colorism conversations this wasn't one of those times in my opinion also if Halle is in a room with all white people they are gonna consider Black regardless.
The scene is atrocious… hypersexuality of young women further perpetuates negative stereotypes surrounding race and culture. I think that's what yanni was trying to express. I think that may be what most people are adverse to.

I agree. Giselle said she could pass for white. I cannot see how. She does not look white. Same as Halle Berry. Even if she wanted to there is no way she could pass. Just because she identifies as biracial does not mean she is white passing.

Black Americans (ADOS) already know Halle Berry is not white passing. The standard of some black folks that are not from the states are part of the conversation now and it may be different for them, but for us who know, knows. Also, the reason I do not talk about colorism with just any ole body, cause people be doing too much and they should really just sit that conversation out, listen, and learn.

To me Quincy Jones children (Kenya & Rashida Jones) are an example of white passing. Halle is not. Look at her light brown complexion & her nose in her earlier pictures.
